Tanya,
I must have missed the first post. Unfortunately I don't have any good suggestions for cheap lodging in LA and I'm working both Thursday and Friday. I hope you you'll enjoy LA and you can meet up with someone else when you're here.

Ok, so I haven't received even one reply to this post, - nada, zilch,
ZERO...

Sooo, I can safely assume then that there isn't anyone in the area who would
like to meet up on those days?

Last chance before I confirm my flights to DC...

Ok, so here is the plan...

I will fly into from Brisbane to Tokyo on Wed, 26 May, stay overnight in
Tokyo, and then onto LA, Thursday, 27 May, arriving at 10.15 am. Check into
Best Western Suites Hotel, 5005 W Century Boulevard, Los Angeles (courtesy
bus from LAX will get me there).

I then have about 4 hours to "kill" before heading back to the hotel and
getting ready for my big night at the Madonna Concert. (Great Western
Forum).

Friday, 28 May, check out of hotel at approx. 10 am. I am yet to book my
flight from LA to Washington, DC (where I will meet up with TV), and so what
I do on the Friday is really flexible at this stage. I can't really afford
another nights accomodation in LA though, so will probably have to fly
straight to DC late afternoon on the Friday. So, at this stage, it appears
that I could also have most of the Friday to "kill", and so I was hoping
that there might be some LA Pdml'ers wishing to meet up for a few hours
either on the Thursday, 27 May, between about 12 noon and 4pm OR for the
full day on Friday 28 May.

I actually wouldn't mind staying in LA another night so that I can get to
"check out" LA by night as I won't get to see it on the Thursday night
whilst at the concert. If anyone knows of some good cheap LA accomodation
that isn't too far from Downtown/where the "action" is, I would love to hear
suggestions, and if I can afford it, may extend my stay and fly to DC on the
Saturday morning instead.

Unfortunately, despite all of your lovely offers, advice and suggestions, I
won't be making it as far as San Jose or San Francisco this time. BUT,
thankyou all so very much for all of your assistance (and especially to
John!) when I asked about it!

Looking forward to any and all suggestions...

tan.
