I'm sure that LA has ultra-expensive restaurants for the chic Hollywood
crowd, but I wouldn't be going there. Paris, and even NYC, has a lot of
moderate places with very good food. So do Florence, Stockholm, Vienna
and a lot of other places. That's what I find enjoyable about those
places. I have never really had that experience in LA, but I thought
San Francisco and Seattle were pretty decent places to eat as well.

I didn't say it was. I said Paris and NY are still one and two, but LA
isn't far behind. If you think it is, let me know when you're going to
be there again, and I'll tell you where to eat. By the way, I hate LA.
But I know good food.
