that's a different problem and going to a larger head won't solve it. the tension adjustment isn't supposed to hold the camera/lens combination by itself. it's there so that when you loosen the lock, the whole thing doesn't fall over. except when you are holding the camera, the head should be locked. if you really need free movement capability with stability, a ball head isn't the right solution. you need a gimbal mount.
