REPLY: Virtually everything within a camera is at the mercy of numerous 3rd party vendors. Pentax don't make plastic, metal or electronic parts. Not even glass. I don't know why this must different for sensors. Pentax didn't make their own film. Fuji does but that didn't help their SLR line.... P�l
