You are right of course, Peter. I just thought it was funny, that two very similar photographs could be found on the internet. The Canon shot was downloaded from www.dpreview.com earlier today. The Pentax shot came from an early announcement for the brand new Pentax *ist D. I believe it came from an official Pentax source.
I think portraits are very good for judging especfially a lens. When we shoot portraits, that's when we really discovers if something's not quite right. We all know what a face should look like, how excellent sharpness and resolution should appear in a protrait.
