Pentax doesn't make glass but they are still owned by Asahi aren't they ? And as far as I know Asahi is quite a manufacturer of glass or did I miss something ?

Pentax don't make plastic, metal or electronic parts. Not even glass. I don't know why this must different for sensors. Pentax didn't make their own film. Fuji does but that didn't help their SLR line.... P�l
