Yes Dave, I am in the National Capital region, on the
QC side, Aylmer to be precise.  

Yes, I remember that the meter is turned on by
removing the lens cap.  I also remember the mirror
lock up by giving the shutter release a slight tap.  

I was wondering if there was an alternate solution to
my missing battery cover?  One that would not require
actually locating one and purchasing it?  We'll call
it a "homemade" solution?

Just curious if anyone out there has any ideas?
