Hi Denis, welcome back. So, I guess you are a K1000 user! I wouldn't like to depend on anything this small, I made my self out of metal, really :-/ ! I guess anything else than metal (wood, plastic etc.) would be to bulky or too weak to leave enough space for the battery/to hold the battery safely. Get a "parts" K1000 off ebay - or maybe a local photodealer.
On second thought: A slim piece of feather-steel (like a blade feather) app. 3 mm wide could actually do the job - by sitting with it's ends in the thread. Then you must insulate the sides of the battery with tape or a slim plastic strip.
