Wow, what a nasty bitch you turned out to be. There, is that what you wanted
to hear? Do you get a rise out of winding people up? You are not right. The
"35mm equivalent" or "this lens becomes that lens" statements are widespread
and perfectly correct. They refer to AOV. Nobody is talking focal length.
Don't read it literally. The term single lens reflex is not actually correct
either as most moderns lenses actually combine a number of lens elements to
form the whole - but most people seem to understand that it is nto a literal
statement. The same goes for the digital crop factor. 1.5x is not
magnification, it is crop. When someone says a 50mm becomes an 85mm they
dont mean literally, they mean the AOV changes to that of an 85mm lens.

I repeat my points because clearly you still do not understand them.

If I asked why you only reply to my posts to attack me, I did so because you
had already called me a jackass, not the other way round.

And yes you have done this before.

In fact I am starting to get a feel for who the abusers are on this list
(you, Tom C, Greyworld, Peter Alling, Bob W and a few others). Funny how it
is the same bunch of folks who tried to censor the dotpis we can discuss
here, etc. who now want to control the accepted use of the photo terms . I
see a trend developing here ;-)

Antonio

P.s. The term penis envy was introduced by Greyworld. I dont see what its
place is in a discussion of how the digital crop factor affects AOV. Mine is
bigger than yours has nothing to do with it. Anyway it should be "mine is
smaller than yours" as thats what you get (a reduced AOV) when you put a
lens on a digital camera.
