I've noticed similar problem with my Sigma 24mm f/1.8. AF appears off, manual focus
OK. I get the same problem with the MZ-S though, and have verified the problem on the
slides I got back. I assumed it was either something about the Sigma lens that caused
the problem, or that Pentax AF isn't that accurate and the shallow DoF at fast
apertures shows it up. Can't say I've noticed it with the 43mm f/1.9 though, so it
might be the lens.

I tend to focus manually most of the time anyway so don't get the problem. That's what
I love about primes, full control.

Subject: my ist D AF problem

Upon taking a bunch of rather soft shots, I've just been testing my ist D's
AF. It seems that with the Sigma EX 28-70 2.8 (which I've not had any AF
problems with my 5n), even though the camera says something is focus (using
single point/ spot AF), the camera consistently misses the focus (tested on
text). Manual focusing yields the usual sharp focus I'm used to getting.
    Batteries are full, btw.

Does this mean I should return the body for a new one, something is wrong
with my lens (I don't think this is the case..), or something else?

    Please advise.

    Thanks,
    Ryan
