on the "wide-angle POV" theme:

        Many of my favorite wide views have been made by cropping
        the center horizontal from a "normal" lens. So, even folks 
        w/ just a 50mm could do the same. The trick is simple - just
        pick a distant subject and its surroundings.

        the "tele POV" can be achieved via cropping, as mentioned
        already. Easily achieved by scanning a small section of a
        modestly large (5x7 or 8x10) print at high resolution and then
        resizing down to PUG-specs.
