Or.... to photograph subject matter behind glass, although in that case it's
usually only the white print on the lens bezel that needs blacking out, the
camera logo can be hidden by a black card mounted around the lens, extending
beyond the camera body to hide its reflection.

Lots of black velvet helps, too, as does dressing in total black like a goth
.  I've done it myself to photograph store windows and display cases
