Tape seems so much easier than the card trick, however,  quite a few
photogs have blacked out the print on their lenses with a sharpie. Apart
from any practical aspects, they look rather nice, too.

BTW, concerning dressing in black.  I've found that it's helpful to wear
dark colors when working in the darkroom, too.
