Hmmmm.... I've done the same thing, and rarely bracket anymore for the same reason--the 1p's exposure is almost always the best. Shooting almost nothing but slides, the evaluative metering has worked wonderfully for me. In high-contrast situations I will often bracket at -1/2 and maybe -1 stop, but that's all--and even then I usually choose the camera's exposure.
