I'm quite satisfied with the Epson 3200. It does a great job on medium format and is adequate for most purposes with 35mm. I've even sold stock of 35mm pics that I scanned on the 3200, and I've made 12 x18 enlargements that look good. You can't tell much from web-based images, but here's a 6x7 scan: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2438913&size=lg
And two 35mm scans: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=1644062&size=lg http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2556640&size=lg > I've been using a 3170 for prox 10 months.
