Now it gets complicated.
Eleven stat holidays, depending on your work situation, it may be a day off, it may be an overtime paid day, some companies give an "earned day off" on a monthly basis, some don't, and most of the unionized office types around here get every second Friday (thats another 26 days per year) off as paid time.
The way it has worked out, if you are unionized and in a job that is deemed vital to the public good, life is pretty cushy.
If you are in a non unionized service sector job, you pretty much get shit on by everyone, especially on Fridays.
