We went to Prague last April.  It was very safe and extremely 
enjoyable.  One of the nicest cities in Europe, and very scenic.  The 
beer is simply great!

After Prague, my next choice would be Rome.  Great scenery, interesting 
museums, wonderful food, fantastic gelato, and enjoyable cafes, 
particularly around Piazza Navonna.

I was greatly underwhelmed by the Black Forest, but that may be because 
I visited it after the Swiss Alps.
