I bet you'll read about pickpockets everywhere in the world. I've been warned about pping for new york, central america, hamburg, egypt and usually had no problem when I got there. Of course if you are not careful you will lose equipment, but that does even stand true for my quiet cozy little local hometown: if you leave your stuff unattended or in easy reach someone else will attend to it.
But since I've not been to prague myself so far (a few friends have been there and never mentioned problems) I can't tell for sure of course.
