I wouldn't be so disparaging, ThumbsPlus allows Load, Edit and Print 
application config for each and every file type it supports on an individual 
basis, you can even add new unsupported file types. Though it's not so 
important for me as I usually use it as a drag and drop tool.

I've been a registered ThumbsPlus user since the mid 90's and they have always 
offered good value upgrades and been good with support. They have even ended up 
including several suggestions that I have made on the development forums over 
time. 

Currently my main Thumbs data base is managing 62,708 images across 1,618 
folder paths and 27 volumes and never missies a beat, can't ask for more than 
that.
