Assuming the strap is around one's neck with a camera attached - if the cannister is taped right-side-up one must lift the camera strap (w/camera) up to make slack in the strap, then flip the cannister to remove the film cassette (this usually takes two hands, but then I'm the clumsy sort) - if the cannister is taped upside down the cassette will drop down or out after the lid is unscrewed without having to perform any strap & camera lifting (this usually takes one hand).
