The only (very personal) one are the CF cards I already own, otherwise I wouldn't mind if it uses SD or CF - both are fast, cheap and available in large-enough capacity. Funny thing is SD is now sometimes even cheaper than CF at the same size.

Sadly, yes.
Hopefully this isn't the start of a trend.
Perhaps Pentax is owned by Lexar?
