Just like in the other lenses the quality varies somewhat.
Some have aspherical elements, etc.
However, thinking 11yr old and camera I instantly think
of the 90WR or 105WR.
Tough as nails, almost water/pop/mud/dirt/dust proof and
take very nice pics.
They are also rubber coated and easy to hold on to.
A bit larger than most P+S's, good training for a REAL
camera. (And harder to lose)
Fully automatic but with overrides for several features if
you want to get creative. ;-)
