Hi Jon, welcome (you've been here before, late 2003?).
Yeah, for a few days. Unfortunately, at the time, my schedule was rather, erm, busy, and you guys are a talkative bunch! :-)
I've now had my *ist D for just on a year now.....
Yeah, the sort of things we all lave to live with, regardless of camera... :-)
How well does the istD work with manual focus lenses?
MF is quite good but not quite on par with the best manual focus bodies eg the
LX.
encouraging.
I have owned this lens in the past but never had the opportunity to marry one
to the *ist D, I can't see why it would work quite well, it's a fine lens, the
FL range my prove a little restrictive if you are intending to treat it as a GP
lens though.
By "FL range" do you mean the short end of the lens (35mm x 1.5= 43.5mm)
or it's wide aperture of f 3.5?
I've thought about the new "short" end of it, and that is a concern, but I only need this lens to last me as my main lens until I can afford a shorter lens.
Links are great, those of us who are interested will check them with interest,OK, let's see what is worth putting up. I suppose something from my Program Plus is only fair.
some may even pass a comment or two :-)
Warning, keep in mind that these pages weren't set up for strictly "photography" reasons.
Balloon launch in Krakow, 1998: <http://www.dabie.k-ow.net/~jonglass/balloons/>
This page was put up to show a friend the results of a batch of scans. The funny part is that I shot this roll in 1998, had it developed, but never had prints made! I completely forgot about it, but found it rolled up in a cupboard this past December. I scanned it, and put the raw scans up for a friend to see. So, you are seeing some "rough" stuff here. Plus, the film is a bit worse for the wear. :-)
The next page is a field trip my daughter's preschool made to a local Christmas ornament factory. Put up for the other families to see... another quickie, but shot with my Program Plus. Also a little rough, but better scanning, and lots of boring shots. There are a few good candid people shots, however. I like the glass blowers at the bottom. :-)

Some local castle ruins. postcard quality, I suppose: <http://homepage.mac.com/jonglass/PhotoAlbum16.html>
This link is one on our family's web site. You can link to others from there. but this is the link to the only other page worth viewing there, some panorama photos:

Lastly, for those whom I haven't bored to sleep completely, the only surviving prints I can find from my Minolta days seem to be railroad related. (I fear my mother threw out all the B&W stuff away while I was at college) These pages are strictly railroad-oriented. I shot them for their historical value, not photographic value (which probably explains why I shot them in color!)
<http://homepage.mac.com/jonglass/Y&S/Y&S_old_photos/Y&S_page1.html>
and
<http://homepage.mac.com/jonglass/Y&S/Misc_railroad_images/ Misc_railroad_images.html>
These last two were all scanned from prints, so the quality is even worse than it should have been. :-( But it is all a part of my photographic history. :-)
It's all mostly boring stuff and subject matter. I have a bunch of other stuff, but none of it has made it to the web yet. I am not sure where I want to put it. I've been on Photo.net forever, but haven't gotten the nerve to put anything up yet. Just discovered the WebAperture site, thanks to someone on this list, so may start putting stuff up there.
Oh, and thanks for the friendly welcomes!
