Not according to the definitions of the pros that I hang out with.


Probably because it's not made by Canon or Nikon -- but neither was the LX.


Thats part of it, of course.
Pentax just isn't recognized in the field as a pro 35mm manufacturer, and has always seemed a step or two behind since the AF SLRs hit town.
The LX was a very good camera in it's day, easily holding it's own with what it was contemporaneous with.
