Of course you can get "real" D cells, which are around 5 to 7 Ah
capacity, but you probably know that ;-)

I was considering them when I frankenadaptered a handlemount flash for
external battery pack, but ended with recycled notebook cells, these
worked quite well and weren't so expensive nor heavy.
