Another interesting game in the rechargeable battery market - selling filler. We just purchased a charger and some D cells for our emergency flashlight. I was quite amused to see that these big cells are only 2500mAh cells - basically no more capacity than in an AA-sized cell. They don't weigh much more, either (unlike a regular D cell). That's because what you really end up with is a small rechargeable cell inside a cylindrical sleeve (of foam plastic, or some similar material).
Doesn't that negate the entire reason for the bigger battery?
