Many photogs through the process of cataloging their negs are easily able to know exactly how many frames were shot, and with which camera if they have more than one. High tech imprinting on the film isn't needed to keep track of such things. But regardless, why the need to make the announcement (rhetorical question)? Who's to say, perhaps if I get a digi I'll do the same thing and will better understand the reasoning ...
