I think it's a little more than that. Most of the places where digital cameras get discussed have at least one thread entitled "How many images have you shot?", or similar. We've even had one here. I chose not to answer that survey; I might obsess over techincal details of file format, but the actual frame count doesn't interest me (although I *can* tell you exactly where it's stored in the image file :-)
