Getting a little tired of all the $35.00-$100.00 gizmos out there to soften flash, most of which don't seem to do much, I started playing around with some "Houshold Goods". Here's what I came up with: http://www.donsauction.com/pdml/FlashTest/Diffuser.htm
2-$1.50 "Snack Tray" lids nested together. A little white poster board for sides and to increase output, a simple way to mount the thing to a stand and I'm all set. I have some nice round bowls with the same type of lid (translucent white polyethylene) that I'm going to make a smaller, portable field unit out of. Should just be able to cut a rectangular hole in the bottom for the flash and Presto! :-) Don (The cheap, but inventive)
