The 1p spoiled me, so much so that I could not stomach the MZ-S, nor the 
low-light autofocus on the D. The 1 and the 1p are cameras that I truly 
admire. I think you will like yours.

I suggest that you consider using center-weighted averaging, especially 
when using slide film. Program metering is weighted to lighten shadows 
and can cause highlights to blow out.
