Trevor,

I moved from a Super A to a Z-1 and never looked back.
Focus accuracy and metering for slides have always been great,
although I don't use the Matrix metering options often.

It's a great camera with a solid autofocus system, faster than the SF-Xn.
Get a manual and learn about Hyper Manual mode and the wheels.
It's a different way of operating, but easy to get used to.

Today I'm using some LXen or a Z-1 & Z-1n. It is very convenient to
switch between the platforms as the Z-1's have a whole different feel
to them, no mistaking where the features are or which camera is in
hand.

The one thing it took me a while to learn was about the metering with
K and M lenses (and possibly other vendors). The older Pentax lenses
revert to center weighted metering and never uses Matrix metering
despite whichever you choose in camera. It's a poorly documented
issue.

There is no battery pack for the camera.

You might find this copy of the PZ function card useful.
