USB 2 devices are 100% compatible with USB 1 ports. IO will
transact at the speed of the slowest device or port. In
specific, I have hooked my *istDS to a PowerBook G3 (model with
FireWire/USB ports circa 2000 production) running Mac OS X
v10.3.7) with no problems whatsoever.
Although, I'd recommend buying a USB 2.0 SD card reader and
using that to read media instead. I dislike hooking up camera to
computer all the time, find it easier to use a card reader.
Works the same, readers cost $20.
