No, no! I'd consider an AC adapter an essential part of any battery-using camera kit!
Batteries are relatively expensive, and some of them quite costly!
AC essentially costs you nothing.
If you ever need to do any fussing around between camera and computer, some of which takes a lot of time, why waste batteries which you DO need for portable use?
