I hadn't thought about taking the B+W filters apart, and I'm not
sure that I'd want to do that if I ever decide to take on this
project.  I can't see essentially destroying almost $100.00 of very
fine filters when, for a few dollars, I can pick up some
appropriate-sized older, scratched up filters and use their rings.

There's a photo fair near here next weekend.  Maybe I can pick up
some cheap 39mm filters and have 'em handy should I ever take on
this project.
