Hmm. I damaged one of my FMs, my main camera at the time, and shorted out its flash terminals. I used it for a decade and some before fixing it.

So, I'm left with an LX that works in every way, except it won't trip
a flash.  Sadly, that's one of the things I liked best about the LX:
the ttl flash metering.

Negotiations are underway even as we speak, between myself and a list
member, which negotiations, if successful, would place an LX in my
hands.  If those discussions come to fruition, I would then have a
perfectly good LX, and I could use my current one as a flashless
backup/parts body.

So, it's all good.
