Nope - I always knew I could fill up that sort of space. The first
PC I actually purchased for my self (a 386/20) came with a 40MB drive,
and the first thing I did was rip that out and replace with a 127MB one.
(A 5 1/4 full-height drive. It was actually a 140MB drive, but the ATA
controller on my PC could only address 128MB). The drive was surplus
from a workstation upgrade at work; it was about to be sold for scrap!

Are you sure you've got that right? Only 1GB total disk space?
I've got around 25GB just of images on my notebook (60GB drive),
and a 100GB USB drive with a few more images.
