Not bein used to PhaseOne, I find user iterface far from being intuitive. At first, I couldn't believe that the most obvious functions (e.g. "open" and "save" file) are not there.
However, after some panic, you can get accustomed to replace open with some direct navigation via the folder tree pane and save with "gear".
At the end, the odd user interface is no longer a big problem.

Shadow/Highlight contrast - these work very nicely. Easier to use than
manual curve changes (although these would give better control).

Except that even with shadow contrast at it lowest, the shadows ca still be pure black!
That doesn'r happen with other converters I used so far. Looks like a BIG problem to me!
Am I missing anything ovious here?

Sharpening & Detail extraction - I have mixed feelings about this.
They use similar algorythms as PhaseOne. That meast very good detail,
but sometimes with lots artifacts in the finest details.

I agree.

Another no (to me) is the artificial look of the image. Heavy pixelation and enlarged image looks like a painting!
