And I even tried setting exposure compensation (up to +3!), but black areas still remain deep blacks, while both the straight in-camera jpeg and the file converted using PentaxPhotoLab show nice detail.


Another no (to me) is the artificial look of the image. Heavy pixelation and enlarged image looks like a painting!

Another no (to me) is the artificial look of details. Slanted lines show visible pixelation (similar to PentaxPhotoLab), while enlarged details look like a an illustration (flat, with little if any texture/nuances).


I noticed all above with a night shot. Maybe that's the worst case, however I don't like such behavior.
