the biggest problem with CD labels is unless they are circular
type and applied perfectly, the extra weight throws the disc
out of balance when spinning at high speed and may affect
the transport/signal quality.

Probably from a manufacture of a competing product. Actually I have read
the the adhesive from CD labels can do more damage than a sharpie (felt
tip marker).
