Boris, a little paranoia is good. A lot makes life hell.

If you grade conservatively. Don't use hyperbole (exaggerated claims) you
probably will have not problems. I have never had a problem as a seller. I have
had several as a buyer, all to do with lies in their ads.

One of the things to know up front which Wigwam apparently still does not
understand is that PayPal takes credit cards. A credit card company (by law in
the US) immediately withdraws the funds from PayPal if the buyer claims a
dispute. What do you think PayPal does then? Yep, they withdraw the funds from
you. However if you can document everything you can win the dispute (assuming
your are in the right), if you can not document everything you will not. The
assumption is the buyer is in the right.

But as I said in the first paragraph if you are conservative in your ad, you
are very unlikely to have problems. 99.99% of ebayers are honest. When you
think of it you have that same chance 1 in 10,000 of being mugged when you walk
out of your apartment.

BTW, I do not think the guy I bought the Polaroid Back from is dishonest, he
probably just got a little carried away writing his description.

Hi!

I have several items, such as Vivitar Macro Focusing TC that I'd like to sell on EBay. In light of most recent thread that Graywolf started, it would appear that I am most probably will end up facing possibility of negative feedback... I do realize that having to state that I am from Israel may attract dishonest buyers planning to negotiate after the auction end... With just 5 feedbacks total I may be in real trouble... Not to mention that my *only* way to accept payment is PayPal...

What do I do? Try to find someone, may be on the list, willing to sell the darn thing for me for some percentage of the deal? Put the sucker on the shelf and forget it ever existed? Face the music? Try to produce such an auction description that will eliminate the possibility of complaint?

If you're an active EBay seller, I would appreciate your help...

Boris
