The A24/2.8 is definitely a nice lens, but they tend to run higher than $100 when you can find them. The A28/2.8 is generally findable at around $85-100 these days and is also quite a good lens ... perhaps not quite as sharp wide open as the 24, but still an excellent performer. M series lenses tend to be cheaper, but the wides between 15-24mm still go for more than $100, and are somewhat hard to find.

Zooms in this range for 24x36mm use are often cheaply made and nasty quality unless you spend a bit for them. I bought the Pentax FA20-35/4 AL recently ... it's a $500 lens ... and it is excellent: very impressive quality.

Thanks much... but i definately don't want any new lenses... i look
for something old... it's the K mount for the ME super..
I can live without the zoom... so it can be a prime lense, but zoom is
a better idea.
I went through our oldies shops today looking for a 24mm F/2.8 but
without any success.. looks like thise lense is good enough but i will
ot get it until the 19.08 when i really need it...

About the only wide-angle zoom lens I can think of at that price,
new, is the DA18-55 supplied in a kit purchase with *ist DS body.

Hi All

I'm interested to get myself a nice, second hand, cheap, made of gold
(joke) wide angle zoom lense... The thing is that my budget is kinda
VERY low...
Can someone advise me any wide zoom lense about 18 at the short and
40-50 at the far end ?
I'm thinking of something less then 100$ (sorry.. I know it's hard to
think about something that cheap.. but it's what I have..)

Thanks a lot in advance
Michael
