Hi P.J. the registry is in no way related to the file system used. RegCompactNet ist a freeware tool for defragmenting the registry. It does not clean unused or obsolete entries and thats good so IMHO. That's a dangerous job and most of the tools I know manage to clean up just "a little too much" one day and are, despite their claims, not for the "normal" user but for the professionals only :-(
