Doesn't make for a very good "street camera" then, if you have to walk
about with the cap on (or drain the juice with the cap off all day).

I'm pretty anal about protecting my lenses and keeping them clean. I'm lazy and don't like cleaning them any more than I have to so my caps are on unless I'm looking through the viewfinder. That battery issue never bothered me.
