Paul, The shot was made @ 4.0 The K 55/1.8 that I have isn't a very contrasty lens either. The lower contrast and subtle tonality this lens delivers is very appealing. Methinks it would be a great portrait lens on the istD-series. Reminiscent of the very early Nikkor 85/2.0, which is one for which I've been searching for a couple of months.
