I understand that there is one trick to lower the noise of a long
exposure shot, which is done by taking a second dark shot ( the same
time as the first, but with the shutter closed)  and then by
subtracting the noise of the second shot to the first one ( if this
makes any sense ;)

Dunno if this is the case, though...
