MF cameras I've used, I point, I focus, I snap the shutter. I've not had
to adapt my shooting style or technique to the camera. The camera
responds
as I desire, when I desire. There's a more seamless integration of
photographer and camera.
You've been getting a worst case scenario suggested to you.
I have an MZ-5 (same AF as the 5n) and for the most part it is fine.
It doesn't work perfectly in every situation, but most of the time, it
works, and works quite well.
Don't worry about the Rube Goldberg stuff until you need to.
