I simply put an increasing number of layers of paper towel over the Sigma 5950 until the output was no longer adequate to overexpose at full aperture and a close distance. That means the flash now has to expose at GREATER THAN it's minimum output, even at 6 inches distance. Took 5 layers of white "Bounty" brand towels on this one. As an added benefit the light is a good bit softer now.
