Subject: K1000 meter inaccuracy
Just dug out my K1000 the other day and thought I'd
shoot a roll. Was looking it over when I discovered
it's metering differently than my other two bodies.
Looking at a given light source, at f/8 it wants me to
use 1/60th sec, my other two bodies with the same lens
want me to use 1/250th. All are set to ASA100.
Checked battery, it was a bit low... replaced it with
a fresh one, it's still off. What gives? What can I do
about it?
Sounds like it is optimized for black and white......(thats a joke)........
Seriously though, have you checked all your meters against a gray card?
Make sure the lens is set to infinity for all metering in a comparative
series of this sort, and the lens to subject distance should allow the card
to fill the frame, and be evenly lit with no shadows.
Do that in several light types.
The results might surprise you.
Do that before you do anything hasty.
