I have a frozen finch. It's in my freezer.
Really.
Several months ago, my housemate heard a thud on the back window.
Upon investigation, she discovered a non-moving finch near the base of
the window. She tried to revive it (mouth to beak resuscitation? who
knows...), but when that failed, and once she decided it wasn't pining
for the fjords, she brought it inside to show me (I smiled politely,
all the while thinking, "She's brought a Dead Animal into the
house!"). She then put it in a plastic sandwich bag, and proudly
announced she was going to freeze it.
I asked her why ("TV Dinners for the kitties?" I wondered), and she
mumbled something about museums or something.
Whatever...
It's still in there. I've gotten over the feeling of unease when I
see it, having come to the conclusion that it's no worse than frozen
steak (except frozen steak has no feathers and beady little eyes
looking at me).
But, you didn't really want to hear all that, did you? You wanted
people to comment on your photo.
It's very pretty. Lovely colours, interesting pose. It seems quite
concerned about something. Nice, spare composition, nice and sharp, I
like the bokeh.
It's all good. Very good.
cheers,
frank
