Hi gang ... I know this comes up every so often, and have read some of the older threads on the subject, but since there are always new monitors appearing I thought I'd ask again. I need a new monitor and have pretty much decided which CRT monitor I want. However, I could sure use to save some space on my desk, and am thinking of a flat screen monitor as a possibility. One or two of the Apple Cinema displays are of interest, and my understanding is that they'll work on a Windows machine ... great, although maybe a bit spendy (gotta go visit an Apple store).
However, what other brands and recent models might be recommended? I'm looking for something in the 19-inch, 20-inch range that will, of course, work well with Photoshop. I've heard the term "native resolution" used in conjunction with flat screens. What exactly is that? Does it mean that the resolution is set, and can't be changed? What about things like the ability to set the color temp and calibrate the screen? Do flat screens come in any "format" other than LCD, like plasma, and, if so, what are the benefits/drawbacks to each. Tks! Shel
